What's So Great About Being An Advisor?

I was recently asked what was the best part of being a financial advisor. I said it was seeing my clients achieving their goals.

Thinking more about this topic, I realized that there add many great aspects of my profession. Here are several:

This Website Is For Financial Professionals Only

● Seeing a longtime client maintain and grow their portfolio over time even while they are taking out retirement distributions.

● Advising and assisting a client on moving to a retirement home or independent living community,

knowing that I have helped provide them security in their old age.

● Hearing a client say "I don't know how we could have done this without you."

● Tax loss harvesting right before the market jumps up.

● Getting no panicked phone calls when the market drops.

● Hearing the pleasure and gratitude in a client's voice after they've taken their entire family on a special group vacation.

● Helping a client avoid the trap of a "friendly" annuity salesperson.

● Knowing that my prior insistence on long-term care insurance has allowed a client to benefit from quality care without draining savings.

● Finding ways to legitimately minimize income taxes and having the client notice.

● Watching younger staff members grow in competence and confidence.

● Getting referrals from clients.

● Having that first advisory session with a client's child.

● Looking myself in the mirror knowing that I have made a difference in my clients' lives.

I feel privileged and lucky to be part of the financial advisory profession. How about you?
